Congress uses Gandhi’s name, BJP follows his teachings: Rajnath Singh

The Congress, which utters the sacred name of Mahatma Gandhi on every occasion and claims to be the true follower of the father of the Nation, rather betrays Gandhiji dreamt of Ram Rajya, the Congress collects documents to raise doubts over the presence of Ram during the Ramayana age, BJP president Rajanath Singh said on Wednesday.

Singh said the Congress and its senior leaders went up to the extent of submitting an affidavit in the Supreme Court suspecting the very existence of Ram, the Maryada Purush and the faith of crores of people of India and aboard. “ The Congress uses the name of Gandhiji for its vested interests, but the BJP does the work of the Maha Purush in letter and spirit”, he said.

Singh was the Chief Guest of  Kranti Samabesh on the auspicious day of the 200th  birth anniversary of our great hero and freedom fighters Veer Surendra Sai, the birth anniversary of  Netaji Subhas Ch. Bose and also to celebrate the completion of 150 years of the 1st War of Indepedence. The team of the BJP organized the rally. Nearly more than 1 lakh party workers from all districts to the State and a host of senior party leaders, including Chief Minister Chhatisgarh Dr. Raman Singh, All India General Secretary Sri Vinay Katiyar, All BJP MPs, Minister, MLAs from Orissa, attend the programme.

Singh said, the 1857 revolution is treated as the first freedom fighters from Orissa like Buxi Jagabadhu, Jayi Rajguru, Chaki Khuntia , and Chakara Bisoi fought against the British rule prior to it. Even Jayi Rajaguru was the first man of the country to be hanged by the British Government for raising voice against its rule, “ he recalled from the pages of the history. He also appealed to the Maoists to change society with ballots not with bullets. The dreams of the freedom fighters including the Father of the Nation are yet to materialize adding that the Kranti Samavesh' is the beginning for fulfilling dreams of those great souls who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.

BJP State President Suresh Pujari lamented that freedom fighters of Orissa and their contribution were yet to be duly recognized. Vir Surendra Sai spent 37 years in British jail, which was the  longest period of punishment for any freedom fighter all over the world, he pointed out. Hence Kranti Samabesh should be regarded as the day to make a beginning for fulfillment of dreams of those great souls who sacrificed their Jiban (life) and jawan (youth) for the sake of the country.

The function venue was adored with photographs of all freedom fighters of the country, including the State’s. The photographs bore writing “ Hey Bira Tumaku Pranam” (O great sons of the nation, we bow down our heads before you) . The entrance gate was the replica of the famous Barabati Fort of Cuttack. A sense of patriotism prevailed in the city on the occasion.
